Buying a suppressor is already a slow process, so the last thing anyone wants is avoidable delays. My recent experience with Silencer Shop had a mix of frustration and solid customer service, and I think it’s worth documenting for anyone considering the same route.
The Initial Order: OCL Polonium 30
On January 16, 2026, I ordered an OCL POL30 (Otter Creek Labs Polonium 30, .30 cal). It showed in stock at checkout. The next day, I received an email saying it was actually back‑ordered.
Inventory mistakes happen, but this one dragged on. By March 2, 2026, the suppressor was still listed as back‑ordered with no clear ETA. At that point, I decided to move on.
Switching to the Resilient Suppressors Simple Man 7.62
I purchased a Resilient Suppressors Simple Man 7.62 instead. This is where the second issue cropped up.
Even though all my information was already in Silencer Shop’s system, the new suppressor showed that I needed to re‑enter everything from scratch. The system wouldn’t let me proceed, so I had to call customer support.
Customer Support: The Bright Spot
I sat on hold for a little over 15 minutes, but once I got through, the experience improved dramatically. The representative was helpful, professional, and efficient.
They were able to:
Cancel and refund the original OCL suppressor
Fix the account issue that was blocking the Simple Man purchase
By the end of the next day, I was able to sign my Form 4, and Silencer Shop initiated the Form 3 transfer to my local gun shop. According to Silencer Shop, this part of the process should take about one week.
What’s Next
Once the Form 3 clears and the suppressor arrives at my dealer, I’ll update this post with the next steps in the process. Anyone who has gone through NFA purchases knows patience is part of the deal, but accurate inventory and smooth account handling go a long way toward making it less painful.
More to come once the suppressor is in hand. Looks like Frog Arms LLC should go ahead and get its SOT2 and submit everything in June.
